On 17th and 18th July, Mayouchi at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake will welcome Japonico, Gurugram's acclaimed Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar, for a two-night Izakaya experience. Ranked No. 23 on the 30 Best Bars India 2025 list, Japonico has earned a reputation for contemporary Japanese cuisine and ingredient-driven cocktails. The takeover will be led by Beverage Director Marcel Roland and Culinary Director Roberto Blondi, bringing a selection of Japonico's signature drinks and small plates to Mumbai. Cocktails with a Japanese Accent The cocktail menu highlights Japonico's approach to combining classic techniques with Japanese-inspired ingredients. Expect drinks featuring fermented fruit sake, umami guava, hibiscus, pink grapefruit, sansho pepper, goji berries, genmaicha tea, kaffir lime, crisp apple and chrysanthemum. The result is a menu that balances freshness, spice, savoury depth and delicate aromatics, reflecting the bar's ingredient-first philosophy. Small Plates Designed for Sharing
Complementing the drinks is a concise selection of izakaya-style plates, including avocado tacos, asparagus sushi rolls, Padron pepper tempura and seafood-inspired bites. Designed to be shared, the menu celebrates bold flavours, seasonal ingredients and the relaxed, social spirit of Japanese dining. Why It Matters Guest shifts and bar takeovers have become an important part of India's hospitality landscape, giving diners access to acclaimed restaurants and cocktail programmes from across the country while fostering collaboration within the industry. For Mumbai's food and beverage community, this is an opportunity to experience one of Gurugram's most respected bar programmes without leaving the city. For two evenings, Mayouchi offers a glimpse into Japonico's award-winning world—where contemporary Japanese cuisine meets thoughtful cocktail craftsmanship in an immersive izakaya experience.
